Planes stay aloft because of the difference in air pressure below and above the wings. As a general rules if a fluid (air included) goes fast, the pressure goes down. So they make the air go faster on top of the plane's wings, and the pressure on top goes down. Then there is more pressure below than above, essentially pushing the plane up.

Planes stay aloft because of the air currents moving past the wings. I saw that on »The Magic Bus« this morning.

Just went flying today. Ceiling was 2700 feet. Beautiful day to cruise the skies.
