As a modern technical thought process, the palindrome gains by involving both the palimpsest and the anagram. In fact, a palindrome not meaning the same in both directions is an anagram, as my last name is partially in French: louch(e), that is »shifty«. The palindrome can also be referred to in connection with Leonardo's attempts at encrypting his notes using a mirror. Then, as a metaphor, like the palimpsest, it would describe the rewriting of History and any frivolous attempt at being a writer in the classical sense of the word.
